Plan a phased return
- Start with reduced hours or duties.
- Build up gradually as stamina returns.
- Agree a clear plan with your employer.
Helpful adjustments
- A quiet space to reduce distraction.
- Regular breaks to manage fatigue.
- Written notes and checklists for memory.
Manage energy
- Tackle demanding tasks when freshest.
- Protect recovery time outside work.
- Notice and respect early warning signs of overload.
Communicate
- Share what helps you work well.
- Review the plan regularly.
- Ask about occupational health support.
